President Trump called his political enemies “vermin” on Veterans Day last month.

Everyone from the Biden campaign to the establishment press – all of whom have apparently no historical context for anything outside of WWII – piled on immediately, saying Trump was using “Nazi” language.

This came up again during a Meet the Press interview over the weekend, in which host Kristin Welker asked Florida governor and 2024 Republican presidential primary candidate Ron DeSantis what he thought of Trump’s alleged ‘Nazi’-like rhetoric.

WELKER: Trump is using language that people say harkens back to Nazi Germany. Do you think that language is presidential?

DeSANTIS: I think even beyond that, the issue is, why are you running? … Trump’s whole this is retribution for himself. What about all the other people? pic.twitter.com/zLtFkKntIF

DeSantis Asked About Trump’s Alleged ‘Nazi’ Language

Welker asked DeSantis, “You bring up former President Trump. So, let me ask you about the GOP frontrunner. Mr. Trump is campaigning on the idea of retribution. He’s promising to jail his political enemies, if he’s reelected. He’s also referred to some of his political opponents as ‘vermin.”

“Language that frankly people across the political spectrum say harkens back to Nazi Germany,” she said. “Do you think that kind of language is presidential?”

DeSantis replied:

Well, I think even beyond that, the issue is why are you running? Are you running for your personal issues? Are you running for the American people’s issues? And I’m running for the American people’s issues.

See what just happened there? “Beyond that?” How about, before attacking Trump (which is fine, they are gunning for the same office), we tell the fake news they’re not getting away with that kind of vicious slander?

Does anyone honest really believe Trump is trying to be a Nazi?

Are Republicans – even those running against Trump – just going to let the mainstream press get away with this?

Welker followed up, asking, “Do you condemn the use of the word ‘vermin,’ then?”

DeSantis replied, giving some pushback to the direction the host was taking the conversation in, “I don’t use the term. But what I don’t do is play the media’s game, where I’m asked to referee other people.”

“He’s responsible for his words,” DeSantis added. “He’s responsible for his conduct. I’m responsible for mine.”

As for how other Republican candidates fared under similar absurd questioning, fellow GOP primary candidate Nikki Haley has said “I don’t agree” with using the term.

Vivek Ramaswamy said the “actual vermin” live in San Francisco.

You want to know what actual “vermin” is? It’s what crawls around San Francisco daily, until Gavin Newsom chose to finally clean it up on a dime in honor of Xi Jinping. This is a classic MSM trick: obsess over some random word Trump said & sanctimoniously condemn him while… pic.twitter.com/jZpuTLHD4F

Chris Christie also jumped on the establishment bandwagon, saying Trump’s words are reminiscent of language used by Nazi Germany.

A weekend poll showed that 60 percent of Republican voters would choose Donald Trump to be the party’s presidential nominee, with 11 percent picking Ron DeSantis and 10 percent going for Nikki Haley.
