Elon Musk wondered about the state of affairs in America after news broke that a Navy Reserve veteran was charged with a hate crime for vandalizing a statue of Satan at the Iowa State Capitol.
Considering what radical leftists have done to statues across this country for years now, the added charge has many in shock.
According to the Des Moines Register, Michael Cassidy was charged with a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief. Cassidy, a former congressional candidate, admitted to destroying the statue – a loose term considering the satanic display was concocted with household items and was not a true statue by definition.
Prosecutors, however, added a charge of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony under Iowa’s hate crime statute.

Charged With A Hate Crime For Damaging Faux Satan Statue
Lynn Hicks, a spokesman for the Polk County Attorney’s Office, explained to the Register why the Navy Reserve vet was charged with a hate crime for destroying a leftist macaroni art project statue of satan.
“Evidence shows the defendant made statements to law enforcement and the public indicating he destroyed the property because of the victim’s religion,” said Hicks.
You have to be a special person to go to bat on behalf of satan, Ms. Hicks, but you do you.
The “Libs of TikTok” social media account posted images of various statues destroyed by liberal and Black Lives Matter protesters in recent years, none of which earned hate crime charges.
“Violent activists tore down dozens of statues including Columbus, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. None were held accountable or charged with a hate crime,” the post reads. “Michael Cassidy knocks over a Satan statue made out of household items and gets charged with a hate crime.”
“Welcome to America’s 2-tier-justice system,” it adds.

Democrats Shrugged Off The Destruction Of Statues – But Now They’ve Found Somebody They Really Care About
The Polk County attorney Kimberly Graham is a Democrat who was a failed candidate for Senate when she ran in the Democrat primary in 2020.
Now, she’s fighting on behalf of Satanists against Navy vets under the guise of protecting the former’s “religion.”
And, to Libs of TikTok’s point, isn’t it odd that it took a statue that Democrats actually care about before they pinned a “hate crime” on somebody?
Here is former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) shrugging off the destruction of a Baltimore statue of Christopher Columbus, a man who is roughly 1492 times more important a historical figure.

“People will do what they do” Pelosi said, adding, “if the community doesn’t want the statue there, the statue shouldn’t be there.”
We’re guessing the people in Polk County overwhelmingly did not want a statue of Satan there.
Elon Musk, the CEO of X, formerly known as Twitter, responded to the story by asking a question on everybody’s mind: “What has become of America?”
Liberalism. That’s what has become of America. And liberalism is a mental disorder.
Liberals demanded George Washington statues be removed, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial be relegated to a museum, and parks named after Andrew Jackson to be dedicated instead to honor Michael Jackson.
And then they actively worked to destroy those monuments.
In 2020, a group of non-peaceful protesters in Madison, Wisconsin tore down a statue of Hans Christian Heg, a Norwegian-American immigrant who died fighting to end slavery during the Civil War.
Heg’s statue was decapitated and thrown into a lake. The man who vandalized the statue was charged with a misdemeanor and given probation.
