Nearly 63 million Americans have already cast ballots ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

With just days to go before the election, some 62,941,182 have already voted. That includes 33,097,262 in-person early votes and 29,726,085 mail ballots returned. Some 66,672,015 mail ballots had been requested as of Thursday afternoon, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab early voter tracker.

In states that record party-affiliation, Democrats cast 11,972,215 early ballots (38.9%), while Republicans cast 11,100,748 early ballots (36%), according to the tracker.

More than 100 million voters went to the polls earlier for the 2020 general election.

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are battling in swing states – and elsewhere – for the White House at the top of the ticket. Also hanging in the balance, control of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, along with state and local issues.

Most pollsters have reported the presidential race remains a toss-up.

Polling guru Nate Silver said his election model shows Trump in the lead. In Silver’s election model, Harris’ winning odds are 46.2% and Trump’s are 53.4%.

“That’s very close to a coin flip, in other words,” Silver wrote on Thursday. “While Trump made meaningful gains in our forecast in mid-October, we don’t think there’s much sign that the race is continuing to drift toward him in the final week and the seven most important swing states remain incredibly close.”
