An illegal immigrant captured at the southern border reportedly admitted to being a member of Hezbollah with plans to travel to New York and “make a bomb.”
The terrifying story of Basel Bassel Ebbadi, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Lebanon, was first reported by the New York Post on Sunday.
The outlet obtained a document from the United States Border Patrol in which it summarized a “terroristic threat” Ebbadi made to personnel.
The illegal alien, according to the document, “claimed membership to a foreign terrorist organization.”
That organization is identified by the Post as Hezbollah. The group recently expressed support for the October 2023 Hamas terror attacks on Israel. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 1,100 people, including 767 civilians and 36 children.
When “asked what he was doing here in the US”, Ebbadi replied, “I’m going to try to make a bomb.”

Illegal Immigrant Wanted To Make A Bomb, Travel To New York
Internal ICE documents obtained by the Post seem to indicate a man who claimed to be an involuntary terrorist. In an interview with officials, Ebbadi alleged he “didn’t want to kill people.”
Furthermore, he suggested of membership in the terror group that “once you’re in, you can never get out.”
Ebbadi wasn’t just a recent recruit either. In discussion with officials, he admitted to being a member of Hezbollah for several years.
His mission focus, according to the Post, was focused on “jihad” and killing people “that (were) not Muslim.”

Shortly after that report, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump unveiled an extensive platform designed to keep “anti-American and anti-Semitic foreigners” from continuing to infiltrate this country.
If elected, Trump vows to implement “strong ideological screening” for all potential immigrants. Those harboring known sympathies to jihad and Hamas are automatically disqualified based on this plan.
