Last week, we reported that the former “Dukes Of Hazzard” star John Schneider was being accused of racism after he seemingly compared the singer Beyoncé to a urinating dog for entering the world of country music. Now, Schneider is firing back to defend himself, calling these racism claims “absurd and ridiculous.”
Schneider Seemingly Compares Beyoncé To Urinating Dog
While being interviewed by the conservative outlet One American News, Schneider, 63, was asked about “leftist” musicians in the wake of Beyoncé, 42, entering the country music genre for the first time.
“The lefties in the entertainment industry just won’t leave any area alone, right?” the host asked, according to Daily Mail. “They just have to seize control over every aspect, don’t they?”
“They’ve got to make their mark, just like a dog in a dog walk park. You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here,” Schneider replied, seemingly comparing Beyoncé to a urinating dog.
Beyoncé fans immediately seized on Schneider, branding him “racist and hateful,” but he is saying that this cannot be further from the truth, as he uses this urinating dog analogy all the time.

Schneider Defends Himself
“I’ve used that expression about myself whenever I endeavor to go out. and push the envelope? I’m from New York. I’ve got a saying,” Schneider told Daily Mail. “I have said every dog needs to be on a tree my whole life, which means everyone has a right to their opinion. Everyone has a right to try, do and say anything because of freedom of speech.”
“Everyone has a right to try or do anything that they wish, so it was never intended to compare her to a dog,” he continued. “And if you listen to it or if you see it, you’ll see the first thing I said about Beyoncé was that I think Beyoncé is the greatest female vocalist since Whitney Houston.”
Schneider had his own country music career back in the 1980s, so he knows a thing or two about this genre.
“I do know a little something about country music, because I’ve done it for so long. God bless her for having a number one song,” Schneider added. “So now even if I had said something derogatory, which I did not, I have the right to.”
Schneider went on to say that he believes Beyoncé fans “used” him to drum up more interest in the singer’s upcoming country music album and her two country songs “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”
“They found something that they could take out of context, and they ran with it. I think they ran with it. They looked at it as free press for a new album,” he lamented. “I was just used as a unknowing, I won’t say unwitting, but unknowing tool to promote some new music.”

‘I Welcome All Free Speech’
Despite the backlash that he has received, Schneider has no interest in trying to silence his haters.
“I welcome all free speech,” he stated. “I believe in standing up for what you believe is right, even if I disagree with you.”
Schneider concluded by indicating that he’d be open to collaborating with Beyoncé, saying, “Maybe one day there’ll be a Beyonce, John Schneider duet – who knows? I know a little bit about country music. I mean, I’ve had four number ones.”
As one of the only openly conservative stars left in Hollywood, Schneider is frequently targeted by hateful leftists, so the backlash he received really comes as no surprise.
In the end, we can’t help but agree with Schneider that he was “used” by Beyoncé fans to promote her music, as there’s nothing the left loves more these days than to claim that they are victims of “racism” even when they are not at all.
