Hunter Biden wants the gun charge against him, just one of several charges he is currently facing, dismissed. Despite his father’s insistence on whittling away Second Amendment protections, the younger Biden argued in court that the prosecution is mere vindictiveness.
But on Tuesday, federal prosecutors asked the court to reject that request citing one reason in particular.
The prosecutors say cocaine residue was found on the brown leather pouch the president’s son used to store his gun.

‘Strength of the Evidence Against Him is Overwhelming’
Prosecutors said that “the strength of the evidence against” Biden “is overwhelming.” The gun charges stem from his apparent false claim that he was not a drug abuser at the time he purchased a pistol.
Hunter Biden claims he’s being targeted unfairly for political reasons.
Fox News reports, “Hunter Biden previously made incriminating statements about his drug use in a 2021 memoir, but now investigators are saying the cocaine was found on the gun pouch after it was pulled from a state police vault last year.”
“To be clear, investigators literally found drugs on the pouch where the defendant had kept his gun,” prosecutors said.

The president’s son pleaded not guilty to federal gun charges in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware in October, which accused him of lying about using drugs in October 2018 on a gun purchase form.
He has acknowledged struggling with a crack cocaine addiction during that period in 2018, but his attorneys say he did not break the law. Hunter Biden has since said he has stopped using drugs and is working to turn his life around.
Hunter Biden was charged with making a false statement in the purchase of a firearm; making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federal firearms licensed dealer; and one count of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.
New news as it pertains to Hunter Biden is usually bad news for him and this latest story is no different.
His material, intentional or not, almost writes itself.

Biden Seems to Have a Sense of Entitlement
It’s natural that anyone would try to get out of criminal charges, but the prosecutors claim their evidence against him is so strong Biden should not be given any special treatment due to who his father is.
Hunter Biden has been nothing but trouble for his father, between the drugs, gun charges, shady art deals, and more.
A judge simply dismissing this case at this point would reek of corruption, even more than the usual variety.
What Biden’s final punishment will be will tell the country just how serious the prosecution has been.
